PittieLove Rescue
A Mission of Love. Rescue and Acceptance
Our Mission: PittieLove Rescue, Inc. is an all-volunteer, foster-home-based rescue dedicated to the care, understanding, and adoption of the American Pit Bull Terrier. PittieLove’s primary goal is to ensure that our rescued dogs will never again suffer from abuse or neglect. We work diligently to carefully place them into loving homes where, for all of their remaining years, they will experience the affection and kindness that has been so sorely absent from their lives.
About Us
Since 2006, PittieLove Rescue has worked closely with animal shelters, animal control facilities, rescue organizations, and volunteers throughout New England and strives to save as many dogs as our resources will allow. All dogs who successfully pass our temperament evaluation are placed into loving foster homes where they are provided with quality veterinary care, initial training, and extensive socialization (with both people and animals of all ages). All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, tested for heartworm and other tick-bourne illnesses, and micro-chipped prior to adoption.
As experienced pit bull parents, all of our volunteers are happy to assist potential fosters and adopters with any questions or concerns they may have at every stage of each dogs’ life, and beyond. Potential adopters are provided with applicable information relating to the specific dog that they are interested in, as well as other potential matches.
Although we do not accept dogs into our program that show aggression toward other dogs, we prefer to place our rescued dogs as only pets or with a compatible dog of the opposite gender. It is important to distinguish the difference between dog/animal aggression and human aggression. Human aggression is not a normal trait of pit bull-type dogs.
Our strict adoption policies include, but are not limited to, a comprehensive application process with an initial phone screen, personal and vet reference checks, and a home visit. Please read our Adoption Policies for more detailed information.

Noreen Ford never grasped the true implication of the term “underdog” until she met Poncho, a pit bull who she says steadily tugged at her heart until he ultimately stole it.
